दूसरों को तकलीफ़ देकर खुश होते हैं चंद लोग
गम में देख औरों को
फूलों सा खिल उठते हैं कुछ लोग
पता नहीं
किसी दूजे को सताकर
क्या हासिल होता है किसी के दिल को दुखा कर
अपनों को रुला कर
क्यों मन ही मन मुस्कुराते हैं कुछ लोग
पर क्या करें दोस्तों
इंसान की नीयत नहीं बदलती
रंगत बदल जाए पर फ़ितरत नहीं बदलती
अपने से ज्यादा
फ़िक्र रहती है इन्हें औरों की
खुद के आँगन की हो बत्ती गुल
पर आग में घी डाल करना चाहें रोशन ये सारा जहाँ
खुद में हो ऐब कितनी भी
दिखता स्वयं का दामन सफेद चादर सा ही
जिसमें एक भी दाग नहीं
नीचा दिखा बार-बार
करना चाहें औरों को ज़लील भरी महफ़िल में
बड़े-बड़े महलों में रहते हैं
पर कोई पूछे इनसे
दिलों का दरवाजा इतना छोटा क्यों
लाख कर ले तू जतन
इंसान की नीयत नहीं बदलती
वक्त बदल जाए पर फ़ितरत नहीं बदलती
है तुझे इतना गुरुर क्यों
है तू इतना कठोर क्यों
दूसरों की मज़बूरी को कमजोरी ना समझ
मैंने सुना है
वक्त सभी का आता है
इंसान अपने कर्मों से ही पहचाना जाता है
पर तुम कितनी भी कसरत कर लो कुछ लोगों को अपना बनाने की
साज़िश रचना हसरत है उनकी
क्या करें
इंसान की नीयत नहीं बदलती
रुत बदल जाए पर फ़ितरत नहीं बदलती
